FAQ

Are your Persian kitten ESAs purebred?
Although our main focus is a therapeutic benefit, yes- all bloodlines are verified Purebred Persian. PurrEmotion felines are show quality, but our contract states that our Persian kitten ESAs are strictly for therapy and may never be caged in exhibitions.

Are your Persian kitten ESAs tested for feline diseases?
Testing for feline diseases will require a $800 prepaid vet visit given to PurrEmotion at the time of reservation.

What's the best deal you can get me on a Persian kitten ESA?
Our focus is to place Emotional support companions with patients in need. If you, or anyone you know, qualifies, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us through this app or through our email PurrEmotion@gmail.com

What do you feed your Persian kitten ESAs?
We serve our ESAs a high-quality kitten food diet enriched in protein and omega fatty oils.

800 Vet Exam Fee?
This covers the cost of a comprehensive health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, including multiple panels of blood work and stool testing to ensure your kitten is healthy and free of parasites and diseases.

Our approach to vaccinations?
We want to be transparent about why we've made this choice. In the past, we experienced concerning reactions in some of our kittens following vaccinations-reactions that genuinely scared us and made us reconsider our protocol. The health and safety of these kittens is our top priority, and those experiences led us to stop vaccinating within our organization. Based on our experience, we encourage you to do thorough research before vaccinating your kitten, especially since he or she will be considered an indoor animal.

Important care guidelines?
We raise our kittens in a controlled, healthy environment and recommend they continue as indoor-only cats in their new homes. When kittens are kept indoors in a clean, disease-free household, their exposure to infectious diseases is minimal and sometimes nonexistent.

This indoor lifestyle, combined with proper nutrition and holistic care, helps maintain their natural immunity and overall well-being.   If your home has other pets, please ensure they are healthy and parasite-free before bringing your new kitten home.

Our belief about spaying and neutering?
Our teen emotional support cats are all currently spayed and neutered. However, we do not spay or neuter any kittens before they go to their new homes. After extensive research and consultation with multiple veterinarians, we've learned that early alteration can impact a kitten's development, even sometimes in a neurological way. The veterinary professionals we've spoken with have been adamant that kittens should not be altered until they are at least 6 months of age, allowing their bodies to mature properly first.

Not only have we had great results by spay/neutering between 6-8 months of age, but also our recipients have all had great success letting their kittens mature before their big surgeries.

Our care philosophy?
We take a holistic, organic approach to kitten and cat care, providing premium nutrition and vitamin supplements to support their natural health and wellbeing.

Our mission?
We're an independent nonprofit focused solely on the therapeutic benefits these kittens provide. We're not affiliated with CFA or TICA, and we do not participate in cat shows or exhibitions. Our kittens are companions and emotional support animals- never show animals. We believe they deserve to live freely in loving, needy homes, not temporarily in cages. Providing this documentation may only encourage people to take them to these events, and we have decided against it.

Adoption timeline?
Kittens go home at 10 weeks of age, after completing their socialization training and becoming more independent from their mothers.

Fees and donations?
There's no fee to receive a kitten from our program. We simply ask that individuals and families that are approved donate what they're able to, in order to help us cover some expenses and continue our mission of raising emotional support kittens.
